Math: This is the last week for our geometry unit. Their test will be Friday. The study guide will go home tomorrow, and we will review on Thursday.

Reading: We are still working on finding the author's purpose. We also are working on finding evidence in the text to support our claims. It is so great to see how much this class loves reading!!

Social Studies: We are still learning about pioneer life and the Gold Rush. The students are so interested in what we are learning! The test will be next Wednesday.

Weekly Happenings:

Writing: We are continuing to work on their informational books. I am encouraging them to work hard to put their research into their own words. I've told them to read a lot of material over their topic before taking notes. This way, they have a better understanding before they take their notes. They are also encouraged to add text features to their books. The students have a book of different text features that will begin going home with them.

Math: We are still plugging away with geometry! The students are doing a great job of keeping up with all of the new terms! Please encourage them to look over their geometry books to remember all of the concepts we have learned.

Reading: We are working on finding the author's purpose. We are also working on figurative language such as similes, metaphors, and idioms.

Social Studies: We started chapter five of our social studies book. This chapter teaches the students about pioneer life and how Missouri became a state.

Important Updates:
*Spring Pictures are this Friday!
*Six Flags Reading forms are due this Friday!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Reading: This week we are going back to making inferences. We will dive deeper into the differences in making prediction and inferences. Have your child make predictions or inferences as they read at home!
