Weekly Happenings!
Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a great week last week celebrating the students' Blue Ribbon success! With Thanksgiving coming up, this week is only a two day week! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
Here is what's happening this week:
Writing: We are continuing to work on our essays. The students have been creating stories to support their bullet reasons. This week they will learn how to create lists that also support their bullet reasons. We will also begin sorting through all of our evidence to decide which pieces are best to include.
Reading: We will finish the Princess and the Pizza. We have been using story elements to help make predictions. We will also use those story elements to summarize the text. As you read at home ask your child to tell you who the main characters are, what the setting is, and to describe the plot in a few sentences.
Word Study: All groups will test today! They will get their new words tomorrow. Their next test is tentatively scheduled for December 11th and 12th.
Science: This week we will be learning about the different types of rocks and how they are formed. We will be making flip books to help learn about the three different types!
Math: We will be learning the traditional algorithm for long division today! Please continue working on multiplication and division facts at home!
