Weekly Happenings

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend! With MAP just around the corner, the students have been working extra hard to prepare!

Here is what's happening this week:

Reading: We are working on finding the problem and solution.  We are also working on answering questions about a text using details from the passage.

Math: This week we are learning about 3-D shapes. The students will take a small quiz on area, perimeter, and 3-D shapes on Thursday. They will get a study guide for this tomorrow.

Writing: We just started a new writing unit! The students will be writing essays over their reading. This week, they are just beginning to write about the thoughts they have as they read. Today we worked on writing all about the characters.

Social Studies: We have been working on how businesses run and about Missouri's economy. We have had great discussions about how to start businesses and how banks run! Their curiosity amazes me! They ask great questions!!

Important Reminders:
MAP beings Tuesday, April 22

• We test Tuesday and Thursday over Communication Arts
• The Math section will be April 29th- May 1st

NO SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY THE 18th

Early Release next Wednesday the 23rd
