Weekly Happenings

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend and got to enjoy the weather! I cannot believe we are in our last week of the semester! We have a lot that we are wrapping up, so please check your child's planner for due dates and tests.

Here is what's happening this week:

Writing: This week we will work on publishing our essays. Some students may need to work at home on some of their publishing. The essays are due Thursday.

Reading: We are continuing to work on summarizing. We have learned different strategies to help when summarizing. We learned the organizer "Someone, Wanted, But, So, Then", the Story Arc to help plot the story, and to reread the text to get a better understanding. This week we will be reading a variety of texts and deciding which strategy would work the best.

Science: This week we will continue learning about weathering and erosion. We will also learn about different land forms. We will have a short land form and erosion quiz on Thursday.

Math: We are using this week to review for the math test on Wednesday. They will receive their study guides today. Please practice long division with your child at home to prepare for the test.

Let me know if you have any questions!
