Weekly Happenings

Hello! I hope you all had the chance to enjoy the amazing weather this weekend! I cannot believe we are in the third to last week already!

Here is what's happening this week:

Writing: I am so impressed by the work they have completed on their literary essays already! These essays take a lot of deep thinking, and they have stepped up to the plate. We will start bringing the essays to a close this week. Next week we will focus on editing and publishing. Their essays will be due May 14.

Reading: We will continue to meet with book clubs this week. They will begin working on their final projects next week. We will also start working on readers' theater. This helps build fluency and expression as they read.
Word study: They received their last spelling words this week. They will test next Thursday, May 14th. Their contracts will also be due that day.
Social Studies: This week we will begin our economics chapter. They students will learn what goes into starting a business. They will also get to work with their classmates to create a hypothetical product they could sell.
