Weekly Happenings

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather! It is about time! This is our last week before spring break! We have a lot of learning to fit in!

Here is what is happening this week:

Reading: We are continuing on working on the strategy of close reading, which means to read multiple times to gain a deeper understanding! With this, we are working on finding evidence in the text to support our answers!

Math: This week we are learning about fractions. The students will be able to write mixed numbers as improper fractions and improper fractions as mixed numbers. It is important the students have mastered their multiplication facts! We are also learning how to add and subtract fractions with like denominators.

Writing: The kiddos are working hard on their expert fair presentations! We started the posters today, and will continue to work on them this week!

Social Studies: We just started chapter 6 in social studies. This chapter covers the Civil War and the role Missouri had in it. The students are asking great questions and are very interested!

Important Dates:
March 13 - Expert Fair 2:30-3:00
March 14 - Half Day
March 17-21 - Spring Break!

Let me know if you have any questions!
