Weekly Happenings

Hello!! I hope everyone had a great spring break! I cannot believe it is already fourth quarter! What a great year we have had so far!

Here is what is happening this week:

Reading: This week we are working on poetry. We will be reading different types of poetry and finding the meaning as well as recognizing different poetic terms!

Math: We are finishing up unit 7 this week. The students have worked on many different fraction concepts.  This week we learned how to find probability using a fraction. They also are learning how to find the possible number of combinations.  Our unit test will be this Friday!

Writing: We just started a new writing unit! Thank you again to everyone who came to our expert fair! The students were so proud to share their work, which they should have been! Over the next few weeks, we will be working on poetry.  Our goal is to create a class anthology! I cannot wait to see the poems they create!

Social Studies: We are currently in chapter 6. We have been learning about slavery, the causes of the Civil War, and about Missouri's role in the Civil War. This week we will continue learning about the Civil War. We will also discuss the difference between fact and opinion. Our test will be Thursday, April 3rd.

Important Reminders:
*Friday is the math test!
*Spring Picture orders need to be returned

Let me know if you have any questions!
