Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Even after the Super Bowl, we had a fantastic day of learning :)

Here is what's happening this week:

Word Study: The students will receive new words this week. Their tests will be Wednesday, February 21.

Science: We are moving onto the next science chapter. This chapter teaches the students about electricity. We will begin by learning the parts of any atom. The students will also learn what static electricity is and how it works.

Math: We will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing the concepts from chapter 9. The test will be Wednesday, February 7. We'll start chapter 10 on Thursday. This chapter covers decimals.

Reading:  The students will have their debate this week. They have been split into two groups, Patriots and Loyalists. They are debating whether or not the colonists should be independent from Britain. After the debate, we will continue reading non-fiction. We will work on a variety of non-fiction reading skills in their guided reading groups.
