Weekly Happenings

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am looking forward to the day when we don't have rain!

Here is what's happening this week:

Writing: We are beginning a new writing unit this week! We are going to write personal narratives. They will use a lot of their knowledge of writing realistic fiction stories to help! This week we are working on generating small moment ideas.

Reading: We are continuing to work on making inferences. We have been using questioning to help make inferences.

Math: We just began chapter 4. We are learning how to round and estimate products and multiply one by two-digit numbers. Once again, please practice the basic multiplication facts with your child! It will be difficult to learn the new information if they still are not comfortable with their basic facts.

Word Study: Blue and Purple group will test this Thursday. Green and Orange group will test on Friday.

Social Studies: We are still working on chapter 4 in social studies. This covers the first groups of Native Americans in Missouri. The test will be this Friday.

Important Reminders:
10/16 - Blue and Purple groups test
10/17 - Green and Orange groups test
            Social Studies test
10/17 - Half day, dismissal is at 11:50
